Ils ont décidé de collaborer dans le cadre du plan d’action européen pour l’alimentation & l’agriculture biologiques et d’œuvrer ensemble à l’organisation des filières. Ils se réuniront à nouveau à Nuremberg en février. Paris, le 16 octobre 2002 Les 13 et 14 octobre, à Paris au Conseil Economique et Social, 22 producteurs représentants les organisations régionales ou nationales de producteurs biologiques et venant de toute l’Europe dont les pays candidats à l’Union se sont retrouvés sur l’initiative de la FNAB. Cette assemblée marquait la naissance d’un réseau propre aux producteurs biologiques européens. La mise en œuvre imminente du plan européen de développement de la bio, le marché et les filières ont été au cœur des débats. Les paysans bio travailleront désormais ensemble sur la maîtrise de la mise en marché de leurs productions et sur la structuration des prix. Pour ces producteurs et leurs organisations respectives, les bio européens peuvent maintenant partager leurs savoir-faire dispersés, prendre des positions communes sur des questions réglementaires ou de recherche. Ils peuvent eux-mêmes être force de proposition vis à vis des politiques et des scientifiques. Mais, avant tout, ils doivent travailler à prendre en charge l’organisation des filières de production biologique, transparentes, susceptibles de profiter à tous, dans un esprit d’équité et de durabilité. Ces producteurs, sous réserve de l’accord des organisations qu’ils représentent, se réuniront à nouveau à Nuremberg en février à l’occasion du salon Biofach. Ils inviteront l’ensemble des groupements et syndicats de producteurs Bio à rejoindre ce réseau pour continuer à élaborer des modalités de production et de commercialisation durables, et de permettre un échange d’expérience. Cette structure, dont la forme reste à définir, a vocation de porter en direct la voix propre des producteurs, tant au sein des instances européennes et mondiales de la Bio que vis à vis des autorités compétentes européennes. PRESS STATEMENT, PARIS, 16.10.2002 Summary: Delegates of the organic farmers of Europe have met in Paris to lay the foundations of their own transeuropean network. They will be coordinating within the European Action Plan for Organic Food & Farming and will be working together for the organisation of the markets. They will meet again in February in Nuremberg. On the thirteenth and fourteenth of October in Paris, twenty-two delegates from regional or national organic farmers organisations all over Europe, including accession states, met at the initiative of the French confederation of organic farmers, the FNAB. This assembly was the birth of a network specifically for organic farmers organisations in Europe. Two themes arose from the debate, firstly the imminent European Action Plan for Organic Food and Farming and secondly the question of the markets for products of organic agriculture. The organic farmers will be working together on exercising some control over the supply chains and price structures. As a result of this assembly, these organisations of European organic farmers can henceforth better share experience, can find common positions on regulatory matters and research projects and can formulate their own proposals vis andagrave; vis politicians and scientists. But above all they will work together on the organisation of the supply chains and their transparency, to the benefit of all, in a spirit of equity and long term sustainability. These producers, pending ratification of the agenda by the organisations who sent them, will meet again in February in Nuremberg at the Biofach exhibition. For this occasion they invite all the organic producers organisations of Europe to join this network and continue to elaborate lasting modes of production and distribution, as well as to exchange experience. This structure, whose form will be further defined, has the principal vocation of being the direct voice of organic farmers, as much within the European and world organic movement as vis andagrave; vis the competent authorities in Europe.
